Refrigeration / Compressor Oils

Compressors must be properly lubricated in order to function properly and achieve long service life.  Three primary compressor types which require lubrication are centrifugal, rotary, and reciprocating type compressors. Due to some of the severe service requirements on specific refrigeration compressors, specialty synthetic oils such as PAO often are used to meet the performance requirements.

Compressor oils are formulated by blending specific base oils and lubricant additives that meet the performance requirements while also maintaining compatibility with the refrigerant.

Many industrial scale compressors use a forced lubrication system where the compressor system lubricant provides filtering, cooling and is then returned back into the oil reservoir. This system allows for separation of free water and gases from the lubricant prior to returning to service.

RB Products Inc. offers a complete line of polyalphaolefin oils which meet the extreme service requirements needed from the synthetic base oil as well as high quality lubricant additive componentry.
