What are Isoparaffins?
Isoparaffins are a synthetic solvent that contains branched-chain alkanes and is commonly used in polymerization, alkylation, and extraction processes. Due to these applications, they have an interesting combination of boiling range, flash point, and evaporation rate.

The TrueSynTM “I” line are synthetic isoparaffin solvents which meet FDA 21 CFR 178.3620 (b) Technical white mineral oils regulations and are VOC exempt for consumer good applications. RB TrueSyn 200i is our NSF HX-1, FX, NX approved synthetic carrier oil which meets all high purity standards set forth by NSF as well as FDA 21 CFR 178.3570 incidental food contact and 172.882 Synthetic Isoparaffin Petroleum Hydrocarbons.
TrueSynTM synthetic isoparaffins are odorless, < 1ppm sulfur, <0.1% aromatics, low pour points, and water white in color. TrueSyn isoparaffins improve upon traditional aliphatic solvents due to their superior wetting capabilities, high stability, low reactivity, preferred evaporation rates, and resistance to oxidation during long periods of storage or shelving.
